JNGSO Format and Rules 

USGA rules govern play except where noted. Stroke play.

For ages 7-12, any attempt to hit the ball counts. For ages 6 & under, whiffs do not count.   There is a maximum 12 strokes per hole in ALL flights. All golfers are required to have an adult caddie.  Out of bounds is played as a penalty where the ball went out of bounds.  Carts are only allowed for those with unique needs.   

We will recognize first, second, and third place awards along with a Putting Champion in each flight. Note: Registrants must be signed in at least 30 minutes prior to their tee time to participate in the Putting Contest. Once the Putting contest is over, we cannot run it again for any individuals who may have missed it.  Please be on time to take part in it.  

There are six flights: 

• Girls 6 & under

• Boys 6 & under

• Girls 7-9

• Boys 7-9

• Girls 10-12

• Boys 10-12

The Jeff Nassiff Greater Siouxland Open will take place at Floyd Golf Course in Sioux City, Iowa on Saturday, September 6th, 2008.

The tournament is a nine hole event for boys and girls ages 7-12, and six holes for boys and girls 6 & under. Lowest score in each flight wins. 

Boys and girls ages 10-12 will play holes 1-9.
Boys and girls ages 7-9 will play holes 10-18.
Boys and girls ages 6 & under will play holes 11-16.

The 10-12 age flights will play from the standard tee locations on all holes. The boys will hit from the white tees, the girls will hit from the red tees.
The 6 & under and 7-9 age flights will play from a combination of modified and standard tee locations. The 7-9 boys will hit from the white tees (not to exceed approximately 200 yards), the 7-9 girls will hit from the red tees (not to exceed approximately 150 yards). Both the 6 & under boys and girls will hit from the red tees (not to exceed approximately 150 yards).

While we want to encourage everyone to play, this is a tournament. All entrants must have played at least three (3) rounds of golf on a regulation golf course, in their life, prior to this event...the more, the better.  We recommend that entrants visit Floyd Golf Course and get some practice rounds in. 

Cart Policy: Riding motorized carts will not be used in this tournament however accommodations will be made for those with special needs.
